The Role The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate and dedicated educator, highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment. They should provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their skills, knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Design and Technologies. The successful applicant should be a proactive and passionate Design and Technology Teacher who is able to effectively teach across the schools Design and Technology programs. The College has state of the art facilities and equipment and offers a wide variety of courses from Years 7 to 12 including Wood, Metal, Formula 1 Racing, Jewellery, Robotics, Engineering and other STEM related courses and initiatives, including the development of Mechatronics and the integration of new technology using CAD and drawing software to utilise 3D printers and laser cutters. The successful applicant will ideally be a teacher who engages their students and challenges them to achieve their personal best. They should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum to develop innovative learning opportunities and be able to teach students of varying ability levels, differentiating the curriculum, in a highly engaging manner. The successful applicant will ideally possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, with knowledge of and experience in a range of instructional strategies and tactics. As a reflective practitioner, they should possess effective data literacy and a capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging ICT based technologies and cooperative learning instructional strategies is highly desirable.
