Accountant – Assets Join Mackay Regional Council as an Accountant – Assets and play a key role in managing the financial integrity of our asset portfolio. About This Opportunity This position supports strategic budgeting, compliance with accounting standards, and ensures accurate reporting for asset-related activities. Key Responsibilities Maintain and validate financial data within asset registers Lead budgeting and forecasting for asset programs Prepare annual financial statements and respond to audit requirements Develop and implement internal controls and asset management policies Provide financial analysis and advice to support decision‑making Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce CPA or CA ANZ eligibility (or working towards) Demonstrated experience in asset financial management Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Proficiency in financial systems and MS Office Why work for Mackay Regional Council?
