About the role We have two exciting opportunities in our Fresh Produce team We're currently hiring for a Senior Category Manager - ripened produce (bananas, avocados and mangoes) and a Category Manager - tree fruit. In these dynamic roles you will be supported in your career growth and serve as a conduit between Coles and our supply chain. You'll use your strategic skills to decide who our growing partners will be over the coming years. From grassroots farms to private suppliers, you will partner with the best growers all over Australia to secure stock, negotiate prices, and build out our commitment to quality for our customers. You’ll also Drive results and performance of your categories Work cross-functionally across Marketing, Operations, Transformation and Strategy Execute our customer-centric strategy for your categories to shape a legacy for the future Drive innovation within the category, working closely with the broader Coles Merchandise team Build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, using your negotiation and influencing skills to drive the direction of the category About you and your skills In this role you will be able to utilise your experience in understanding market share gaps and helping to develop and implement a market leading plan across this portfolio. Well-developed stakeholder management skills will be key to the success of this role. Both Senior Category Managers will have 1 direct report and is a great opportunity to develop your people leadership skills. You will also have Demonstrated Category buyer and / or Merchandise experience within a retail environment. Outstanding influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strategic thinking with the ability to operate in a dynamic, customer-driven retail environment. Proven ability to champion and drive change and continuous improvement. Strong commercial acumen.
