Claims Advisor – General Insurance

As a Claims Advisor, you will be responsible for claims advocacy for national clients through the provision of technical advice and support throughout the claims process and, where necessary, commercial settlement negotiations directly with the carrier(s) on risk and creative problem-solving. You will act as an advocate for all claims classes including Property, Marine, Motor, Travel, A&H and General Liability.The RoleHandling a varied portfolio of allocated claims, including property, casualty, marine and motor claimsProactive claims advocacy, including presentation of claims and circumstances to carriersProviding advice, reporting and support to clients in the negotiation and settlement of a lossWorking with and guiding client advocate brokers to explain and manage clients’ expectations of claims experiencesMeet with clients and prospective clients and demonstrate claims management expertiseNegotiate for clients with insurers and/or insurer-appointed representatives such as loss adjusters and lawyersEngage with all relevant parties to resolve coverage disputes through policy knowledgeProviding claims advice for specific clients and internal stakeholders in relation to reporting and monitoring of claims activity, claim reviews, claims audit/review and advice on industry claims experienceProvide claims-specific inputs to client tender processes, working with the client advocate and meeting with prospective clients, as requiredGeneral administration as required and proper use of the WTW system and operating proceduresThe above list is intended to be as accurate a reflection of the role as possible.However, it may be revised from time to time if different tasks commensurate with the role or level of responsibility are needed to be performed and/or when circumstances change.The RequirementsTier 1 general insurance qualification (or equivalent experience) highly regarded but not a prerequisite.Holder of all regulatory licenses, permissions and technical or other requirements applicable under local legislationSeeking highly organized, detail focused individual who takes pride in their workKnowledge of insurance regulations, guidelines and legislationExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written).Strong ability to build and manage relationshipsProficiency in Microsoft Office and OutlookSome travel will be required, and you are required to have a valid and appropriate driver’s licenceNote: Employment-based visa sponsorship and/or assistance is not offered for this specific job opportunity.Why Join WTW?WTW provides a competitive benefits package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply):Annual bonusCompany paid salary continuance insuranceLife and TPD insuranceHybrid workingNetworks (Gender, Wellbeing, Pride)Career Growth – internal opportunities and development programsAt WTW, we trust you to know your work and the people, tools and environment you need to be successful.
