Health Wellbeing Specialist Services Manager

Department of Education Victoria – Melbourne VIC The primary responsibility of this role is to manage a diverse group of knowledge professionals in the Health, Wellbeing and Specialist Services Branch, who are members of a larger area-level multi-disciplinary team. A key function of this role includes managing the following workforces, programs and initiatives: school wellbeing, attendance and engagement, inclusion and disabilities coordination, respectful relationships and primary and secondary school nursing programs. This role will participate as a member of the area's leadership team, assisting the Executive Director and Senior Education Improvement Leaders to establish and promote local structures to support and promote the health, wellbeing and engagement of children and young people. It will also maintain strong relationships with key health and wellbeing functions in the region's Early Childhood Implementation Division and Student Wellbeing & Engagement Division, in addition to the Student Support Services team. It is required to promote and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external early childhood, education and health stakeholders, facilitating wrap‑around support for children and young people, a school or group of schools, or a system‑wide issue. This position is based at the Ringwood office and will cover the Outer East. Attributes People Management skills – being able to clearly define role expectations, monitor performance and support effective workforce planning practices to align the team with priorities of the role. Influence and negotiation skills to build support for ideas, progress work and achieve outcomes. Stakeholder Management expertise to find solutions to resolve issues with multiple stakeholders, and to work collaboratively and in partnership with others. Specialist Expertise for Regional Service Delivery in relation to health and wellbeing and supporting student outcomes. Leadership – participation within a leadership team to lead and progress areas of relevant work, working collaboratively across the area and regional teams. Qualifications and Experience Desirable: Registration at a relevant institute or association. Essential: A relevant tertiary qualification in a health and wellbeing field, such as Nursing, Allied Health, Teaching or Special Education. About the Group Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programmes. This role is located in the Health, Wellbeing and Specialist Services Branch, Outer East Melbourne Area, North‑Eastern Region, SRS.
