With over 90 years of experience, we are known for our relationship-based approach across homes, hospitals and the community. This is a permanent part-time role based at our Cardiff residential facility, two days per week (one day must be a Friday). About The Role HammondCare regards this role as key in the delivery of relationship-based care which seeks to understand and value every individual as a whole person. Reporting to the Pastoral Care Manager, you will utilise and share your pastoral expertise, coaching staff, and volunteers to support the emotional and spiritual needs and goals of clients, their families, and staff. This is a permanent part-time role, two days per week (one day must be a Friday) working at our Cardiff residential facility. What We Can Offer You We care about your wellbeing and offer a wide range of health and lifestyle benefits including: NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit (up to $2,650 tax free) Additional leave purchase options and 14 weeks paid parental leave prorata Flexible working options Discounts on everyday products and services Discounted healthcare memberships – access to a network of fitness centres and pools for employees and families Free access to independent counselling support for employees and families Health & Wellbeing programmes Reward & Recognition programmes Referral bonuses Career and professional development opportunities Responsibilities Assess resident/family needs and goals on entry to the service using the HOPE assessment tool Develop a spiritual care plan, working with residential staff to ensure client/family spiritual needs and goals are acknowledged Participate in case management reviews and contribute to the development and ongoing evaluation of a care plan Support residents and significant others in an ongoing way and in times of crisis to nurture spiritual development Record and document delivery of pastoral care in progress notes and consumer feedback via Riskman Lead regular carer support groups and faith-supporting activities Provide prayerful support to staff and volunteers and distribute relevant material Work with staff to extend their skills in understanding and meeting spiritual needs of residents, including cultural safety Present Pastoral Care related training sessions to staff and volunteers Offer Christian perspectives on ethical issues to staff and volunteers Provide ongoing emotional/spiritual support and debriefing for staff and volunteers Act as a point of contact for internal and external support services Network with other religious leaders and services and coordinate relevant care, resources and group activities Strategically develop tailored resources and activities to enhance spiritual and emotional wellbeing of residents and families Communicate and build trust by developing relationships with staff and volunteers Liaise with managers and attend staff and case management meetings as required Work with Pastoral Care Coordinators and lead training, mentoring and deployment of Pastoral Care Volunteers Develop skills in emotional support, spiritual assessment and the ability to refer to counselling services Meet regularly with Pastoral Care Manager for mentoring and guidance Deliver staff training in pastoral care areas, including boundaries, grief and loss, faith and hope Provide opportunities for staff to understand the Christian values of HammondCare About You Strong understanding and experience of people living with dementia, the impact on carers, and journeys of grief and bereavement Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement Theological/Pastoral Care qualifications and experience Demonstrated capacity to pastorally care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in need Highly developed communication skills including listening, compassion and empathy Experience leading and supporting a team Strong administrative and computer skills Pre-Employment Checks All short-listed applicants for these positions will be asked to consent to a criminal record check, references and NDIS workers check.
