Organisational Assistant

at

the

Department of English and American Studies

Research and teaching at the Department of English and American Studies cover literary and cultural studies as well as linguistics, didactics and English language.

The department employs more than eighty members of staff. Presently, ca. 4000 students are enrolled in its Bachelor, Masters, PhD and Teacher Education programmes.

Duration of employment: 1 year/s

Extent of Employment: 20 hours/week

Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: -54 VwGr. IIIa with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.

Apart from personal assistance and common organizational tasks your work will include the following responsibilities:

  • General administrative expenditure
  • Teaching administration and communication with lecturers and students
  • Coordination (also online) and cowork in organization of conferences, congresses and meetings, etc.
  • Writing records and reports
  • Preparation of documents for the directors of task groups and commissions
  • Administration of websites, editing and layout of texts
  • Coordination of activities connected to other areas of the department
You will be part of a team that consists of scientific staff and the director of studies.

Profile:

- (Vocational) Middle or High school

  • Experience in administration of research projects
  • High command of oral and written language (German / English)
