The
Research Investigator is responsible for supporting and driving new, innovative programs to improve the process, and product quality of plasma-derived therapies, optimized for patients.

This includes evaluation and process development of new products, alternative fractionation technologies and extraction of new plasma proteins, as well as:

  • Raw data review of lab studies
  • Implementation of new equipment and equipment upgrades
  • Independent planning, accurate performing, critical analyzing, and diligent documenting of experimental work
  • Preparation and support of study plans and reports
  • Lab organization to ensure quality and keep lab technology at industry bestinclass standard (e.g., continuous improvement activities, storage / ordering, calibration, equipment maintenance, exchange with vendors
  • Acting as PD subteam lead for early/latestage development programs (developing PD development strategy, and organizing and executing related studies in lab and pilot scale)
  • Serving as interface between PD team, data scientists and other Takeda internal teams

PDT R&D focuses first and foremost on developing therapies that will improve the health care outcomes of patients Takeda aims to serve.

This position within PDT Process Development will be accountable for:

  • Explore innovative methods / projects / programs to improve the quality and efficient production of plasmaderived therapies for global and local distribution
  • Evaluate new indications, new fractions, new products (including combinations), and any other process development within plasma to ensure maximal potential of the product to improve health
  • Liaise with other R&D functions and other functions across Takeda network on joint projects to ensure smooth collaboration experience exchange
  • Keep plasma formulation and related (nonfractionation) techniques at industry state of the art standard, lead projects through PD in alignment and cooperation with CMC lead
  • Oversight, design, and coordination of projectrelated experimental lab work in internal / external labs and with other external collaborators (e.g., writing experimental study plans and reports, communication of results within the team and across other functions, handson contribution to lab studies)
  • Support technology transfer and scale up activities for processes, as well as support to manufacturing

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD degree of chemistry, biochemistry, biology, biotechnology, chemical/process engineering or related fields
  • 5+ years' experience in Pharm Sci/biotechnology/protein biochemistry beneficial
  • Scientific knowledge in process development, purification processes and protein technologies
  • Good statistical competencies and computer skills
  • Knowledge in plasmaderived therapies and data science is a plus
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good oral and written English and German communication skills
  • Ability to work independent and as part of a collaborative team
  • Comfortable with working in a fastpaced environment and ambiguity

The minimum salary for this important and responsible position is
€
3 909,67 gross per month (full time, collective wage agreement for the chemical industry).

The actual remuneration package will be guided by your professional experience and your qualifications, so increased payment is possible.
