More About The Assistant Accountant Role At Airtasker
What you'll do:
- Process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely, including posting and verifying invoices, and obtaining approvals within the appropriate delegation, while also adhering to internal controls and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage and process weekly multi-currency vendor payment cycles.
- Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for and paid on time.
- Maintain vendor master data and relationships, including responding to inquiries and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly reporting, including but not limited to ageing reports and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, as well as balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare detailed variance analysis reports to explain fluctuations in financial performance.
- Assist with the preparation of statutory tax compliance submissions
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounts payable processes and improve accuracy and efficiency. What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Understanding of accounting concepts and processes, through an accounting degree from an accredited university.
- Month-end experience including preparing general journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Highly collaborative with proven ownership of results.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to accounts payable transactions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to learn new concepts and technology quickly.
- Impeccable integrity and ethical standards.
- Attention to detail, including identifying and resolving discrepancies.
