SPORTFIVE operates with a global mindset and network of over 1,200 local experts based in 15 countries around the world, active in Football, Golf, Esports, Motorsport, Handball, Tennis, American Football, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Rugby, Olympics and Multi-Sport Events and many more.
This role has the primary responsibility for revenue generation by designing sales strategies, creating sales opportunities, developing partnership proposals, and supporting the broader team in achieving the successful sales of on behalf of SPORTFIVE’s main rights holder clients in the region, such as Al Nassr FC & Esports World Cup and globally, including the Boston Celtics & Chicago Bulls, Borussia Dortmund, CR Flamengo and major global athletes.
Key Responsibilities
SPORTFIVE is seeking a highly motivated seller to add to our MENA team
The Director of Global Sports Partnership Sales is responsible for developing sales roadmaps, business development and will sell sponsorships with our global portfolio of tier-1 sports rights to brands in the region
A primary focus of the role lies on generating revenue across SPORTFIVE’s main global rights holder clients - in the region including Al Nassr FC and Esports World Cup, as well as in global markets including Borussia Dortmund, EA FC, Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Chicago Bulls, CR Flamengo, Max Verstappen and Jürgen Klopp to name a few.
Conduct smart, proactive, strategic outreach to potential brand clients and their key stakeholders.
Develop, lead and manage sales pitch process, including proposal development, pitch presentations(s), negotiation of terms and contract completion
Lead and manage the existing MENA Sales team by setting objectives and clear vision. The team will work under the Director guidance who will set priorities and be responsible for the overall sales target
Build and maintain an active pipeline of prospects by using macro and micro market trends, sound product knowledge and deep understanding of brand marketing to strategically identify relevant clients
Monitor all relevant media and trade journals to identify new business sector opportunities
Manage RFIs/RFPs – working with internal business leaders to ensure deadlines met and best work product is presented
Work with internal stakeholders to support thought leadership for and promotion of SPORTFIVE Global Athlete & Team Marketing and Esports business unit growth
Work closely with S5’s central creative strategy &salesinsights team to
develop key value propositions, product opportunities, sales materials and data/insight analytics, to ensure sales propositions are robust and compelling
Liaise with SPORTFIVE international territories and subsidiary agencies where necessary to work collaboratively on relevant projects
Work with internal CRM team to manage reporting
Qualifications & Skills
7+ years of agency / rightsholder experience across sport and entertainment
Ideal candidate would have experience with sports partnership sales in KSA
This role requires an profound sales skills, with extensive knowledge of the landscape and the sponsorship sales process, in addition to a basic understanding of global sports as well as gaming and esports
Must maintain a proven track record of generating partnership revenue with consistent, positive results
Must have a strong existing network with GCC brands (esp. in KSA)
Domestic and some international travel may be required for this role
Must have strong verbal, written and presentation skills, both in Arabic and English
Deadline driven, organized and able to multi-task.
Proficient in Microsoft office, sales CRM, and Apple programs (e.g., Keynote)
