Karora Resources is a Canadian owned, multi-asset gold producer with operations across the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Our producing mining operations of Beta Hunt and Higginsville are supported by two processing facilities, one on site at Higginsville and our Lakewood plant located in Kalgoorlie, providing a combined processing capacity of 2.6Mtpa.

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Ensure routine inspections and preventative measures of the processing plant, including but not limited to ball mills, crushers, screens, conveyors, and pumps are carried out 
  • Fault-finding, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of mechanical components to process equipment such as lube systems, gearboxes, centrifugal pumps
  • Actively manage maintenance planning activities and the Maintenance team
  • Contribute to the development of the weekly plan by providing timely and accurate information to the Processing Manager and the General Manager on the status of key projects and day to day activities
  • Maintain detailed maintenance history in Pronto our computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Play a key role as part of the management team in the implementation of a positive, safe, and productive culture in the workplace
  • Managing various projects in a timely manner, tracking progress and costs.
  • Succession planning, promoting and encouraging team development
  • Be visible and provide mentoring and leadership to your teams
  • Work collaboratively with your team to develop and maintain efficient and productive maintenance processes across the plant
  • Actively promote a high level of safety awareness, lead from the front and by example

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role effectively leading and managing a small Maintenance team
  • Shut down planning and managing experience
  • Sound working knowledge of processing plants – crushing, milling, gravity, leaching, tailings and reagent circuits; and associated infrastructure
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of maintenance practices and procedures, with the ability to enforce them
  • Experience with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Pronto (desirable)
  • Proficient Microsoft office skills 
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
  • Solid communication skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative, and successful working relationships with your team
  • A can-do, team-oriented attitude
  • Desire to maintain a proactive safe working environment
