The post is located in the Conference Support Section (CSS), Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking Branch (OCB), Division for Treaty Affairs (DTA) of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in Vienna. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Criminal Justice and Crime Prevention Officer and the general supervision of the Chief of the Section.

**Responsibilities**:
Within assigned authority, the incumbent will carry out a range of functions to support programming and implementation of projects and activities under the UNODC Global Programme on Implementing the Organized Crime Convention, with a focus on the implementation of its gender and human rights mainstreaming component. Furthermore, the incumbent will also provide substantive support to the work of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC) and its working group. In particular, the incumbent will perform the following specific duties:
Support the overall management and implementation of the subproject on gender and human rights mainstreaming in the implementation of UNTOC and ensure consistency throughout its global, regional and national components, including through monitoring and analyzing subproject development and implementation and preparing relevant documents and reports; ensure coherence and strengthening synergies between the various outcomes and components of the subproject, as well as with other parts of the Global Programme.
- Assist in developing and implementing regional and national workshops on gender and human rights mainstreaming in the implementation of UNTOC, including the preparation of agenda, identification of participants and training providers, preparation of documents and presentations, facilitate and coordinate expert consultations, workshops and other training activities in furtherance of the core requirements and principles of UNTOC.
- Support in liaising with relevant parties, such as ministries, civil society organizations and other relevant bodies to support the mainstreaming of gender and human rights dimensions into normative and strategic responses against organized crime.
- Support the development of tools on gender and human rights mainstreaming in the implementation of UNTOC, including through identification of and liaison with consultants and other internal and external experts, preparation and review of drafts and coordination of expert group meetings or other consultations, as relevant.
- Provide support in coordinating the legal research, analysis and uploading of data on gender and human rights to the databases of the SHERLOC Knowledge Management Portal, and perform such uploads.
- Support advocacy and monitoring and evaluation activities of the programme, with a particular emphasis on the subproject on gender and human rights dimensions of UNTOC implementation, including coordinating the development of advocacy products and monitoring and evaluation of subproject activities.
- Serve as the Global Programme focal point for all issues pertaining to gender, human rights and disability inclusion in programming on organized crime-related matters.
- Support the organization and implementation of the legislative, strategy-related and technical assistance activities pertaining to the implementation of UNTOC on the national, regional and global level.
- Participate in and conduct field missions, as well as prepare mission reports and define appropriate follow-up activities.
- Support the fundraising and partnership-building activities on gender and human rights in the implementation of UNTOC, including through drafting funding proposals, communicating with donors and implementation partners and preparing and reviewing relevant documents and reports for the contributions provided.
- Draft and prepare briefing notes, talking points, speaking notes, speeches and provide support in the coordination of a variety of inputs on gender and human rights mainstreaming in the implementation of UNTOC for senior management and/or Member States.
- Participate in and support the servicing of intergovernmental meetings related to the review mechanism of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC).
- Contribute to the collection and analysis of data as well as identification of trends or patterns and provide draft insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
