Job Title: Nuclear Security Officer

Join the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as a Nuclear Security Officer and contribute to ensuring the safe and secure use of nuclear materials.

About the Role

The IAEA is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join its team as a Nuclear Security Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing security activities related to national regulatory infrastructure for the security of radioactive material in use and storage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement security activities related to national regulatory infrastructure for the security of radioactive material in use and storage.
  • Develop and implement regulations related to security of radioactive material and associated facilities.
  • Work with the IAEA or other international organizations in the delivery of technical assistance to developing countries.
  • Implement results-based projects/activities aimed at supporting States in the establishment and strengthening of their national regulatory infrastructure for both radiation safety and nuclear security.
Requirements
  • Advanced University degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or a closely related technical field with a focus on nuclear science, nuclear engineering, nuclear technology, nuclear/radiation safety, nuclear security or non-proliferation.
  • At least seven years of relevant experience implementing security activities related to national regulatory infrastructure for the security of radioactive material in use and storage.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish), especially French and/or Spanish, will be considered an asset.

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $77,326, a variable post adjustment, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses, and other benefits.
