Nuclear Security Specialist

About the RoleThe IAEA is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Nuclear Security Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing security activities related to national regulatory infrastructure for the security of radioactive material in use and storage.
Key Responsibilities- Implement security activities related to national regulatory infrastructure for the security of radioactive material in use and storage.
- Develop and implement regulations related to security of radioactive material and associated facilities.
- Work with the IAEA or other international organizations in the delivery of technical assistance to developing countries.
- Implement results-based projects/activities aimed at supporting States in the establishment and strengthening of their national regulatory infrastructure for both radiation safety and nuclear security.
The ideal candidate will have an advanced university degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or a closely related technical field with a focus on nuclear science, nuclear engineering, nuclear technology, nuclear/radiation safety, nuclear security or non-proliferation. At least seven years of relevant experience implementing security activities related to national regulatory infrastructure for the security of radioactive material in use and storage is required.
