Job Title: Unattended Monitoring Systems Engineer (P3)

Safeguarding Nuclear Fuel Cycle and Nuclear Facilities

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to work on the deployment, production, and use of nuclear instrumentation, with a focus on unattended applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear physics, electrical engineering, or a related field, and experience with safeguards instrumentation is an asset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement nuclear detectors and related data acquisition systems for NDA, including high- and low-resolution gamma spectroscopy systems and neutron counters.
  • Work with software for NDA, such as FRAM, MGA, INCC, and MIC, and have experience with modelling complex gamma and neutron detector systems using MCNP.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the successful deployment and operation of nuclear instrumentation in various settings.
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies and methods for nuclear safeguards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in physics, applied physics, or nuclear/electrical engineering.
  • Minimum of five years of work experience in the deployment, production, or use of nuclear instrumentation, with a focus on unattended applications.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English, and knowledge of other official IAEA languages is an asset.
Remuneration:

The IAEA offers a competitive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $64,121, a variable post adjustment, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses, and other benefits.
