IT Engineer Air Traffic Management Specialist

Frequentis Group, an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks, is seeking an experienced IT Engineer to join their Air Traffic Management Tower Solutions Team. The team focuses on individuality, integration capability, reliability, and user-friendliness, and is responsible for the development and implementation of innovative solutions for air traffic management.
Key Tasks- Lead the technical project engineering team to ensure the technical specification, setup, integration, and acceptance of a system at the customer site.
- Be the primary contact person for customers, providing ongoing support and guidance for projects in various countries.
- Configure and commission commercially available IT and network components in a security-critical environment.
- Clarify technical feasibility, co-design system architecture, and optimize system under cost-benefit aspects.
- Coordinate internal and external suppliers, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Conduct acceptance tests with customers, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience as a system engineer or system administrator.
- Technical background with a focus on IT, including apprenticeship, study, or career change.
- Excellent Linux knowledge and practical experience.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% internationally.
- Eagerness to work in the field of air traffic management.
- Very good English skills mandatory, any other language is a plus.
- Linux certifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator are an advantage.
- Enjoy working with customers.
- Comprehensive experience with networks (Layer2 + Layer3) and ideally protocol knowledge (UDP, TCP, Multicast).
