Head of Tax Structure

At GoStudent GmbH, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Tax Structure to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing tax planning strategies that align with our company's overall financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute tax planning strategies to optimise VAT, CIT, and Commercial Tax for our group's legal entities, contracts, and GoToMarket strategies.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of new and existing tax laws on our operations and financials.
  • Review our legal entity structure, contract setups, and flow of goods to identify and optimise tax opportunities.
  • Analyse service and cash flow arrangements to ensure tax efficiency and compliance.
  • Work closely with our legal and financial teams to restructure entities and contracts as necessary.
  • Continuously seek new ways of working to make tax processes run smoother and faster.
  • Execute new and alternative ideas and approaches to enhance tax function efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives to automate and streamline tax processes using our existing tech stack.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex transactions.
  • Stay updated with the latest accounting standards and updates to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with our finance team to address technical accounting issues.
  • Look for ways to minimise our tax liability through effective tax planning.
  • Prepare, maintain, and analyse corporate tax documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in tax accounting or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of EU and country-specific tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in accounting software.
  • Strong communication skills in English and German, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
