Strategic Financial Operations Assistant to the VP of Finance

At Magna, we are seeking a highly organized and proactive Financial Operations Specialist to support the Vice President of Finance in managing the Finance Transformation Portfolio.

About the Role

This role combines program management, project execution, and executive communications to oversee the Finance Transformation Portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a detail-oriented approach and a hands-on attitude, who can balance big-picture thinking with meticulous attention to project details.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the VP Finance: Assist the Vice President in operational tasks, collaborating with various Functional Departments such as Magna IT, HR, Finance, and Magna Groups and Divisions.
  • Project Management: Monitor and report on project progress, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Support the engagement of stakeholders at all levels to foster a positive change environment.
Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you should have:

  • A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in Finance functions of large corporates or relevant experience in the consulting sector.
  • Solid understanding of project management approaches, with experience working on cross-functional projects.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, preferably Asana, and data visualization software (e.g. Power BI) is a plus.
