Cloud Architect Lead for Private Cloud Deployment

At SAP AG, we're seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect Lead to join our Enterprise Cloud Services organization. This is a customer-facing role that requires strong technical expertise and excellent communication skills.

About the Role

The Cloud Architect Lead will work predominantly in the pre-sales phase, acting as the primary point of contact for all technical topics related to private cloud deployment from a customer perspective. You'll collaborate closely with internal SAP teams to prepare customers for success on their cloud journey under RISE with SAP.

This is a critical role that involves presenting technical and operational aspects of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition offering to CIOs, IT managers, data center managers, and SAP Technology staff. You'll conduct technical assessment workshops with customers to define their future cloud architecture and plan migration roadmaps with partners, System Integrators, and/or SAP Professional Services.

As a Cloud Architect Lead, you'll guide customers on non-functional capabilities such as business continuity, cybersecurity & compliance, networking, technical operations, and service consumption. You'll also work with other teams within the Customer Success board area to generate pricing and provide ongoing deal support to sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Presentation of technical and operational aspects of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition offering
  • Conducting technical assessment workshops with customers to define future cloud architecture and plan migration roadmaps
  • Guiding customers on non-functional capabilities such as business continuity, cybersecurity & compliance, networking, technical operations, and service consumption
  • Collaborating with other teams within the Customer Success board area to generate pricing and provide ongoing deal support to sales teams

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, Business Administration required from an accredited university
  • High proficiency in customer communications and presentations
  • High proficiency in the SAP product portfolio, offerings, and industry solutions
  • Good understanding of SAP solutions (releases, platform interdependencies, etc.)
  • Good understanding of operational aspects (Application and Technical) of SAP solutions in a cloud environment
  • Good understanding of the entire platform stacks (storage, virtualization, hardware, networks, etc.)
  • Good understanding of technical capabilities of at least one Hyperscale provider (AWS, MS Azure, or GCP)
  • Ability and willingness to be part of a global team of Cloud Architects
  • Willingness to undertake customer-related travel on short notice
  • Fluency in English; any other language is an asset (German preferred)
