Launch Service Operations Coordinator

As Launch Service Manager at Eumetsat, you will oversee the organisational and engineering support for our Institutional Launch Service (ILS) team. Your initial focus will be on launch service management, launcher interface, and launch campaign preparation for our EPS-SG satellites A1 and B1. Later, you will also manage the procurement and coordination of launch services for our EPS-Sterna satellites in direct support of the EPS-Sterna Programme Manager.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for managing the interaction and networking with relevant space agencies, satellite prime contractors, and launch service providers. This includes:
- Coordinating compatibility tests with the launcher adapter or activities linked with System Verification Tests (SVTs)
- Supporting the analysis of the impact of satellite modifications on the launch service and vice versa
- Planning, preparing, and executing launch campaigns as a customer representative or deputy at the launch site
In this role, you will advise our ILS Manager, Programme Managers, and Department Directors of problems and risks encountered during the implementation of our launch services. You will propose possible solutions and mitigation measures to ensure a smooth launch process.
About the TeamYou will join our Programme Preparation and Development Department (PRD), which manages current and next-generation mandatory programmes in various phases of development. Our team works closely with internal stakeholders, including Quality Assurance, Contract Division, and Programme Managers, to ensure the successful execution of our programmes.
Your Skills and ExperienceTo succeed in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in space engineering with a focus on satellite and/or launcher technology
- Proven experience with launcher technology or launch service implementation, particularly with satellite-launcher interfaces and LEOP preparations
- At least 5 years of experience in system management and engineering for satellite and/or launcher systems
- Familiarity with satellite interfaces, especially satellite-launcher and space-to-ground interfaces
We offer an excellent salary of up to Euro 7,500 NET (after income tax) based on your skills and experience.
