The CompanyOur client is a multinational retailer with $400m revenue and an extensive operational footprint across Australia.
Their current focus is on growth across complementary categories that leverage their core business line.
Operating in a fast-paced market with entrepreneurial owners and an experienced management team, they are part of a global group that sees Australia as a key growth engine.
With continuing growth, they are looking to strengthen head office by appointing a Finance Manager to own reporting across the Australian business.
The RoleThe primary drivers of this role are to provide support to the Group Financial Controller and take full ownership of the financial accounting function in addition to controls governance and day to day liquidity for the Group.
Working in partnership with the Group's shared services function you will focus on delivering accurate and timely financial information.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparation of monthly financial reports including balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other internal management reports as needed.Provide insights & analysis in relation to financial results.Provide support to Divisional managers in relation to financial queries or requests.Cultivate strong working relationships with stakeholders outside of the finance function to ensure divisions have the information and tools they need to optimise operational performance.Supporting Head Office by being the Australian based subject matter expert in both technical accounting and Group accounting policies.Support the Group Financial Controller with analysis and establishing processes to enable effective decision making and appropriate controls and governance.Provide leadership, including coaching and mentoring for other members of the team and conducting training where appropriate.Work closely with Group Financial Controller to plan and coordinate Group external annual audit and half-year review, including working closely with the team to ensure desired outcomes are met.Assist with and be a champion for process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives.Your BackgroundYou will have a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) and at least three years post qualified experience.
Working for a multinational organization and reporting into an offshore head office would be advantageous.
You will have a methodical and flexible approach to ensure deadlines are achieved with a strong attention to detail.
A rigorous and organised methodology to the production of financial information and good presentation skills are essential.
You will have demonstrated lateral thinking and problem-solving capabilities combined with an inclusive leadership style.
