We celebrate a 'One Team Culture', where bringing together diversity of thought and expression is key to building the best team to deliver excellent results.An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone with professional experience as a Petrologist or Geologist to join our Laboratory team, based in our Milton, Brisbane office. This role will see you sit in our Construction Materials & Services team where you will provide clients with high quality professional services and advice in relation to petrographic analysis of construction material samples.ResponsibilitiesYour main duties include, but are not limited to managing projects and client expectations, including:Petrographic sample analysis and reporting to ASTM C295, AS1141.65 and AS1726Review and sign off of petrographic analysis reports prior to client issueLiaising with clientsLiaise with other consulting and laboratory staff to ensure clients' needs are coordinated.Regular contact with Government departments, agencies and Councils for information and updates on legislation.Carrying out other duties as may be required from time to time to meet the changing business needs of the organisation and/or as instructed by the Directors.Skills and ExperienceIdeally you have experience as a Petrologist, or you are a Geologist who is excited by the opportunity to become a Petrologist and work in the Laboratory.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Petrology, or related fieldIdeally you have 5+ years of experience as a Petrologist or experience working as a Geologist in a Consulting environmentStrong knowledge of rock and mineral analysis techniques and methodsAbility to interpret and analyse complex data and resultsStrong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables on competing timeframesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWe are proud of our unique culture where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
