We build skills, self-confidence, leadership abilities and community spirit through a rigorous, rich, and varied curricular and co-curricular program.Selection CriteriaDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of the teaching of instrumental music, particularly Bass guitar, guitar and piano, to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels, and the ability to improve learning outcomes across various music styles.Possess the technical expertise relevant to the position and demonstrate an ability to direct ensembles, choose appropriate repertoire, and engage with student interests to foster musical development.Demonstrate high-level communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents, teachers, and the broader school community, ensuring effective collaboration and positive relationships.Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as part of a committed team of educators and contribute to the development of the music program.Proactively contribute to building and retaining instrumental music student enrolments and encourage student participation in ensemble programs.RoleThe Instrumental Music Instructor will be responsible for providing individual Bass guitar, guitar and piano instruction to high-achieving Year 9 to VCE Music Performance students. This includes preparing students for performances and exams and writing end-of-term reports for parents.The position may also involve managing and rehearsing the Nossal High School Ensembles and offering administrative support to the Director of Music in organizing the extracurricular instrumental program.ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality individual and group music instruction.Manage the Nossal School Ensembles, including repertoire development, rehearsals, performance preparation, and related administrative duties.Maintain accurate attendance records.Prepare and present student reports to parents four times a year.Attend faculty meetings as required.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.Child Safe StandardsVictorian government schools are child safe environments.
