The Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing the operations of the specialised steel workshop.The Workshop Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the workshop facility. They are responsible for leading a skilled team, managing resources, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to the overall success of the organisation through effective workshop operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and coordinate workshop operations to achieve production targets, ensuring compliance with budgets and schedules.Plan and manage manufacturing resources, including people, materials, and equipment.Plan and manage internal maintenance activities to optimise the workshop facility.Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational capability.Ensure all activities and equipment adhere to legal and regulatory standards.Work with the HR Team to assist with recruitment, training, and development of workshop employees.Manage staff performance, training compliance, and succession planning to meet departmental goals.Foster effective communication and maintain positive industrial relations in collaboration with HR.Promote and ensure compliance with corporate work and health safety policies and standards.Analyse safety performance, identify hazards, and implement improvement plans.Collaborate across departments to drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Ideal Candidate7-10 years of experience in a specialised steel fabrication workshop with experience leading a team. Ability to motivate and inspire the team to achieve production targets and maintain quality standards. Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
