We are recruiting for Cargo Sales Manager for Melbourne, Australia. The selected candidate will generate maximum cargo revenue in the assigned station through effective sales strategies and promotion. This individual will also be responsible in meeting or exceeding the set revenue/ tonnage target for station and provide customer service in sales & operational areas, liaising with Ground Handling Agents, government organizations and Cargo Head Office.

Accountabilities Plan, direct and control all selling and marketing activities of the station and penetrate the local market to secure new sources of revenue and surpass set revenue budgets. Prepare a Business and Marketing Plan in order to optimize revenue opportunities and maximise QR's presence in the market. Assist in preparing and controlling the expenditure budget. Research and report other airline practices and rates and recommend corrective action. (Evaluate QR's market share, traffic movements to/from the station and other airline practices and fares. Identify areas of concern and instigate remedial action.) Ensure QR's participation in sales campaigns and public events, collecting sales leads for circulation to concerned departments and stations. (Liaise with marketing department to obtain technical assistance required and ensure that the programs conform to QR policies and standards.) Assist customers/clients with all information related to booking/forwarding/delivery liaising with local Ground Handling Agents and with Head Office Cargo department to ensure/enhance a satisfactory service provided by QR. Educate agents/client with all QR procedures and procedures regarding the prevailing standards for booking/delivering issues from time to time by paying agents regular sales visits to generate maximum revenue by providing complete sales & after sales service and encourage them to generate more business on QR. Maintain a proper profile of all the QR Cargo agents and clients by paying them visits on a regular basis. Maintain and update profile of all cargo agents for the purpose of keeping in close contact with them and paying them regular visits to be more vigilant and to be fully aware of their activities and encourage them to generate more revenue. Supervise and provide administrative assistance to QR staff appointed in stations. Oversee the Ground Handling Agents functions and supervise the staff as and when required to ensure smooth operations and strict compliance to all standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge in air cargo operations. Airline experience or air freight industry out of which preferably a minimum 2-3 years on a managerial role. Strong negotiation and good communication skills. Understanding of IATA/TACT Regulations and its impact on sales. You must have the legal rights to live and work in Australia to be considered for this role.
