Where you'll be workingPrince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370.
Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units.
POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care.
We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a Registered Nurse/Midwife who has responsibility for complex person-centered clinical consultancy service for individuals, carers and other health care professionals within the POWH Community Assessment Unit.
Clinical Nurse Consultants are employed as Grade 2 according to the criteria outlined below, and in line with the NSW Public Health System Nurses' and Midwives' (State) Award.
Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and current NSW Drivers License (if required by service).
Minimum five years full time equivalent post qualification experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.
Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based research.
Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes.
Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
Demonstrated clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
