About the Role The Litter Prevention Officer will be responsible to deliver efficient and effective operations for the benefit of the community through inspections, educational materials and liaising with relevant trader groups to reduce litter and waste issues on the Mornington Peninsula Shire. Reporting to the Coordinator Litter Prevention, the core responsibilities include: Investigate waste related requests including illegal dumping, misuse of kerbside and street litter bins and trade. Collect evidence, prepare compliance/infringement notices and/or court proceedings for alleged breaches. Educate residents, real estate agents, commercial operators and other groups on correct waste disposal methods and their respective legislative responsibilities. About You Enforcement qualifications/or extensive experience in the subject matter Experience in local government or other complex organisations is desirable Current Victorian Drivers Licence Highly developed written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of local government regulatory and statutory requirements, investigations, resolution, and enforcement processes.
