Marketing Automation & Lifecycle Manager Apply for the Marketing Automation & Lifecycle Manager role at St Kilda Football Club . About the Role The Marketing Automation & Lifecycle Manager reports to the Executive General Manager Marketing and leads the delivery of an end‑to‑end customer journey strategy—including acquisition, onboarding, retention, reactivation, and advocacy—ensuring every message reaches the right person, at the right time, through the right channel. This fixed‑term, 10‑month role begins January 2026 and focuses on building and embedding the club’s marketing automation platform. Key Responsibilities Cross‑Channel Strategy & Journey Planning Lead the development and implementation of the club’s end‑to‑end customer journey strategy. Design integrated cross‑channel journeys delivering consistent, personalised experiences. Introduce automation and dynamic content to deliver the right message at the right time. Manage the channel mix across owned and paid media to maximise ROI. Report and optimise owned and paid channels, including email, website, social, and other club platforms. Collaborate with internal teams to align creative, content and media plans with insights and objectives. Track journey performance, channel effectiveness, and campaign ROI using analytics and attribution models. Champion continuous optimisation through test‑and‑learn programs. Lifecycle Marketing Strategy Develop a comprehensive lifecycle framework with segment‑based stages, KPIs, and initiatives. Lead strategy and execution of lifecycle campaigns across membership, merchandise, tickets, and partner offerings. Collaborate with data, marketing, consumer and commercial teams to build segmentation and personalisation plans. Analyse lifecycle performance with AFL and in‑house data teams to identify churn drivers and implement re‑engagement programs. Marketing Automation Platform Management Implement and optimise the club’s marketing automation platform, ensuring robust integration with CRM, analytics and digital systems. Build automated workflows, triggers and personalised journeys that enhance engagement and conversion. Ensure compliance with privacy, data security and opt‑in standards. Monitor deliverability, engagement and system performance for operational excellence. Drive innovation via new feature adoption, AI‑driven personalisation and improved campaign efficiency. Collaboration & Leadership Work closely with Marketing, Consumer, Commercial and Partnerships teams to deliver aligned strategies. Act as a bridge between technical and creative teams, translating insights into actionable plans. Mentor and develop team members in digital marketing, automation and data analytics. Represent digital marketing in cross‑functional projects and strategic planning. Promote measurement, accountability and continuous learning culture. About You Strategic and analytical thinker able to translate insights into action. Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills. Excellent organisational skills, able to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines. Creative, innovative, and committed to continuous improvement. Exceptional communicator and presenter with influence across all levels. Proactive, adaptable and resilient leader who embraces change. Valid Working with Children’s Check or willingness to obtain one. What You Need 5+ years’ experience in digital marketing, lifecycle marketing or marketing automation. Hands‑on experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms, especially Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Strong understanding of customer segmentation, journey mapping and personalisation. Data‑driven mindset with experience in campaign measurement and optimisation. Solid understanding of data privacy, consent management and compliance (Spam Act, GDPR). Experience with analytics and visualisation tools for reporting. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and email templates for campaign customisation and troubleshooting.
