Marketing Automation Consultant

The Marketing Automation Consultant is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of Marketing Automation projects using a range of Salesforce technologies – including Marketing Cloud Engagement, Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, Marketing Cloud Next, Intelligence, SF Personalisation, and Data360. You’ll work within a pseudo-agile delivery framework, managing projects of varying size and complexity across multiple systems and clients. This role blends technical expertise, client communication, and project execution to deliver seamless, data‑driven marketing solutions. Location flexibility: this role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne. What you’ll do Project Scoping & Planning Conduct discovery workshops and requirements gathering sessions. Create user stories and provide accurate story point estimates. Collaborate with the Project Manager on story grooming and sprint planning. Participate in user story playback sessions to confirm understanding and alignment. Project Delivery & Execution Attend and contribute to daily stand‑ups. Deliver and QA test assigned user stories. Document delivery functionality and provide testing guidance. Manage UAT feedback and ensure timely resolution. Support go‑live activities and launch initial campaigns. Configure Salesforce Marketing Cloud items based on client requests. Client Engagement & Support Act as the go‑to consultant for troubleshooting and resolving client issues. Maintain proactive, clear, and professional communication with clients. Conduct ad‑hoc sessions such as solution playbacks and requirements workshops. Deliver tailored client training to ensure successful adoption. Collaboration & Technical Contribution Partner with Solution Engineers and Project Managers to deliver high‑quality outcomes. Contribute to solution design, documentation, and project reporting. Log time accurately and attend relevant team meetings. Take ownership of professional development through Trailhead, Partner Learning Camp, and certification programs. Stay current with Salesforce Marketing Cloud updates and best practices. Core Competencies Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and related tools; ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot across multiple platforms. Client Focus: Strong consulting and communication skills, with a commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience. Project Delivery: Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently with a structured and detail‑oriented approach. Analytical Thinking: Skilled at interpreting data, identifying opportunities, and solving problems effectively. Collaboration: Works effectively across multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a culture of learning and shared success. Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities. Accountability: Takes ownership of deliverables, deadlines, and ongoing professional growth. What you’ll bring Diploma or higher qualification in Marketing, IT, or a related field, and at least 2 years of relevant work experience (or 3+ years’ experience in lieu of a qualification). Experience with and/or certifications in one or more Salesforce Marketing Automation tools: Marketing Cloud Engagement, Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, Marketing Cloud Next, Data360 (Data Cloud), SF Personalisation. Trailhead and self‑study certifications preferred. Customer service or consulting experience in a professional environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to quality and detail. Demonstrated pride in producing high‑quality work and meeting client expectations. Truly flexible working.
