Policy Officer - NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal Location: Negotiable – Sydney CBD, Penrith, Liverpool, Tamworth, Newcastle, Wollongong and Parramatta. Employment Type: Temporary full time (up to October 2026) Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8 from $113,574 to $125,720 per annum. Join the Principal Registry of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) as a Policy Officer, a pivotal role supporting the Tribunal’s leadership and the community. Your role Prepare timely, accurate and high-quality written communication, including responses to complaints and feedback, ministerial correspondence, and briefings for the Attorney General and the Department of Communities and Justice leadership team. Review and prepare large volumes of written correspondence. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure clarity, consistency, and excellence in all communications. Contribute to the development of policy and projects which support NCAT and its leadership team when required. What We’re Looking For Excellent communication skills both written and oral, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences. Attention to detail and critical thinking to analyse complex information and prepare accurate, high-quality responses. Strong organisational skills to manage workloads, prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines. Research capability to quickly familiarise yourself with legislative frameworks, policies and procedures relevant to NCAT. Policy insight to provide analysis and advice that supports NCAT and government policy initiatives. Capacity to work in an environment that may involve potential exposure to psychosocial hazards related to the range of services provided in a tribunal environment.
