The Business Development Manager drives revenue growth and adoption of Reckon One, Australia’s best value accounting software. The role involves managing the full sales process, including product demonstrations, account management, and prospecting, across both online and face-to-face channels. Working closely with Reckon’s accounting and bookkeeping partners, the BDM helps expand product reach to their clients. This is an entry-level role with full training provided and clear progression opportunities to a Senior BDM position. Responsibilities New Business – Achieve new business sales targets in line with company strategy and agreed KPI’s. Account Growth – Grow and retain existing and new reseller accounts in line with company strategy and agreed KPI’s. Account Management – develop communication plans to ensure existing accounts are engaged with on a regular basis. Churn Management – reduce churn risk through an effective product adoption strategy and proactively follow up with churned clients to understand reasons for deactivating Wabi software. Implementation – Support the client with the implementation process to ensure that Wabi is configured correctly within the business operation. Support the process of writing, editing, and updating resources for the WABI sales and implementation process. Ensure that sales and reporting processes are up to date and enhanced on a regular basis. Design and deliver internal and external training programs that ensure the team can support, sell, and operate Wabi software to the highest standard. Represent Reckon by attending and delivering presentations and workshops at industry related trade shows and conferences around Australia and New Zealand. Represent Reckon by presenting webinars and product demonstrations. Gather customer feedback and regularly relay that data back to the business to ensure continual product improvement. Being a customer advocate – representing customers in the context of the company’s vision. Upselling – identifying opportunities for account growth and/or offering additional services that will lead to an increase in sales revenue. Firefighting – dealing with customer complaints and finding the best solution. Consult with Reckon leadership on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels. Submit weekly and monthly account and activity reports and ensure data is accurate. Qualifications Knowledge of Accounting Software is an advantage. Experience working as an Accountant or Bookkeeper. Experience in B2B technology sales. Experience in channel sales. Experience in the accounting or bookkeeping industries.
