Guidance Officer Level 1 - - Affrimative Measures - Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and/or Disability Civil Aviation Safety Authority – Brisbane QLD Regulatory Guidance is recruiting a motivated and dedicated team member with a customer service focus to join our high performing team. The role provides opportunity for personal and professional development in an encouraging and supportive work environment. This recruitment activity will also be used to create a merit pool for ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies at the Corporate Services Level 3 below barrier level (APS 5) within Regulatory Guidance. Interpret, research and respond to simple to complex queries from CASA staff and industry participants with consistent, clear, and authoritative information using established methodology in accordance with agreed service standards. Guide, develop and mentor team members including by providing constructive peer review feedback to improve team capability and capacity. Facilitate and manage responses from specialist areas to deliver consistent guidance to regulated entities, members of the public and CASA staff via a demand‑pull workload management system. Undertake legislative research and analysis to support the provision of regulatory guidance to internal and external stakeholders. Maintain ongoing responsibility for quality assurance of guidance responses and conducting large‑scale QA reviews as needed to support business improvement initiatives. Drive continuous improvement outcomes by identifying and implementing opportunities to improve processes as well as develop and deliver basic training content to internal stakeholders to enhance service delivery. Undertake analysis of guidance data to identify trends and risks to inform management reporting requirements. Facilitate administrative support activities including coordinating meetings and other activities as required. Develop and maintain knowledge of Civil Aviation legislation, regulations, policies and reporting requirements, Australian and International standards, quality assurance procedures and best practice models. Contribute to workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA’s Values and Behaviours. Our ideal candidate Stakeholder management skills including the ability to liaise and negotiate with stakeholders and provide well‑considered responses to complex High level written and verbal communications skills with ability to interpret complex information and present effective arguments within defined timeframes. Understanding of Australia’s civil aviation legislation, CASA regulatory and compliance processes and the Australian aviation industry. Ability to analyse and interpret complex data from a wide variety of sources and simplify technical information for a non‑technical audience as Ability to undertake research for projects and moderately complex tasks associated with service delivery. Ability to independently exercise judgement in handling complex queries and supporting other team members in knowledge sharing to achieve outcomes.
