Bid, Proposal and Pursuits Manager

The Opportunity Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, this newly created position will play a critical role in driving the organisation’s growth and sustainability by leading the development of high‑quality proposals, tenders, and funding submissions. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, craft compelling narratives, and ensure alignment with strategic priorities. This role offers flexible work options: full‑time Monday to Friday, or part‑time (0.8 FTE) for the right candidate. The position can be based at any of our Victoria, Geelong, or Wollongong NSW locations, with a hybrid model requiring a minimum of two days in the office and three days working from home. As Bid, Proposal and Pursuits Manager, you will: Lead end‑to‑end proposal development for tenders, grants, and philanthropic funding opportunities across multiple portfolios, coordinating input from leaders and subject matter experts to ensure strong, evidence‑based proposals and ensuring compliance with funder requirements, submission guidelines, and deadlines. Support strategic pursuits and partnerships aligned with organisational goals and growth priorities Maintain a proactive pipeline of opportunities through market intelligence, competitive research, and feasibility assessments. Identify and develop unsolicited proposals / bids for new funding streams that sit outside responses to advertised market opportunities. What you will bring to the role: Proven experience and success leading complex tenders and grants within community or human services sectors (3+ years). Exceptional written communication and storytelling skills. Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities, able to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Familiarity with government funding frameworks, particularly in mental health, community health, employment services, disability, youth or justice services. APMP bid training or certification and experience with AI and proposal automation systems will be highly regarded. At The Disability Trust, we are person‑centred, people focused, and proudly diverse.
