Estimator – Commercial Projects APMG Services | Full-time | Melbourne VIC Join a Growing Team in a Newly Created Role We’re expanding our Projects Division at APMG Services and looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team. This exciting position of being our detailed estimator will be working hand in hand with our Project Manager and is perfect for someone who enjoys taking ownership from the tender stage through to completion. You’ll work across a diverse range of commercial projects, including Childcare, Aged Care, Local Councils, and Education - valued between $20K and $2M. If you’re ready to help shape systems, mentor others, and play a key part in a growing business, this role is for you. What You’ll Be Doing Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, take-offs, and trade breakdowns, often from very low detailed scopes with minimum information. Conduct site visits and assess scope, risks, and site conditions. Manage subcontractor pricing, tender negotiations, and material procurement. Oversee projects from award to completion — ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are met. Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Mentor junior staff and support team development in estimating and project coordination. Contribute to building our new systems, templates, and workflows for the Projects Division. Ensure compliance with NCC, VBA, and Australian Standards. What You’ll Bring 5+ years’ experience in estimating, project coordination, or project management. Strong background in commercial renovations, fit-outs, and childcare sector projects. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong attention to detail. Solid understanding of construction methods, trade sequencing, and site operations. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and trades. Experience with Procore, Buildertrend, or similar construction software. Familiarity with NCC and Australian Standards for small commercial and childcare projects.
