Pathology Billing Support Officer 1yr Fixed Term Full Time (1 EFT), Grade 2 (HS2) Salary + Super + Salary Packaging. 5 Weeks Annual Leave, Novated Leasing Options, monthly ADO's. About the role The successful incumbent will support the Business Manager to ensure effective and efficient Pathology Billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and end‑of‑month reporting, meeting departmental targets and contributing to continuous improvement and revenue growth initiatives. Key Responsibilities Accurately generate and collect patient accounts. Follow up and collect outstanding invoices in a timely manner. Troubleshoot invoice issues and queries from pathology and finance staff. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and provide exceptional customer service. Process incoming invoices, ensuring compliance with Finance accounts payable processes and procedures. Support the Pathology Business Manager with invoice adjustments, write‑offs and refunds within agreed financial delegations. Participate in continuous improvement projects and automation developments as a billing subject matter expert. Implement effective strategies to support revenue growth and maximise debtor collection. Qualifications and Experience Experience and working knowledge of billing/invoicing and debtor collection; computer literacy (Word, Excel) and knowledge of billing and finance systems including LIS. High level of data integrity, accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously to achieve financial targets. Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Adaptability to change and new processes. Effective communication skills and ability to develop positive relationships with hospital personnel. Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills. Customer‑focused with high standard of service to staff and patients. Works well in a sensitive/high‑volume environment. Desirable (but not essential) Experience in public health sector. Experience using Auslab. Benefits Up to $11,660 in salary packaging. Discounted health insurance and eye care.
