BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – CIVIL & INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT This role suits one type of person… Someone who gets energised by building markets, opening doors no one else can, and turning untapped potential into revenue that you can point to and say :"I created that." We’re a specialist supplier and rental provider of heavy civil & industrial equipment used on major projects across Australia. The demand is there. The capability is there. The market is wide open. What we need now is a Business Development Manager who can turn all of that into momentum. Not babysitting accounts. Not waiting for inbound enquiries. Not pushing cold products in a saturated market. This is pure strategic and commercial development — identifying opportunities, creating relationships, and driving growth in sectors where the right solutions win business fast. What makes this role different Not inheriting a messy portfolio — you’re building the growth engine from the ground up. Working directly with a strong technical / quoting specialist, so you can stay focused on creating opportunities rather than paperwork. Helping shape the future direction of the sales function — with the long‑term intention to grow a small customer‑facing team around the pipeline you create. Having the autonomy to chase new markets, new industries, and new applications — anywhere you see potential. What you'll be doing Developing a targeted plan to attack high‑value civil, construction, and infrastructure accounts. Identifying new growth sectors and product applications — not just where the gear is used today, but where it should be used tomorrow. Building and owning relationships with contractors, project managers, procurement teams, and plant managers. Creating leads, qualifying opportunities, and partnering with an internal quoting specialist to deliver fast, accurate proposals. Tracking and reporting pipeline activity, market intelligence, and commercial insights to help shape ongoing strategy. Driving revenue across sales, rental, and service categories by delivering solutions that meet real project needs. Who this role is ideal for A BDM who knows civil, construction, industrial equipment or plant hire — and understands how these buyers think. Someone commercial — comfortable with pricing, margins, and negotiating high‑value deals. A hunter who’s tired of red tape or stale markets and wants real freedom to build. Someone who wants to eventually grow and influence a small team — but first wants to prove what’s possible. Someone who can talk credibly about equipment, tooling, and applications (you don’t need to be an engineer — just technically sharp).
