Education and Experience Information For a Lawyer (APS5), generally at least 1-4 years relevant post‑admission experience (PAE) or equivalent legal experience and knowledge of the Commonwealth legal environment. For a Lawyer (APS6), generally at least years relevant PAE or equivalent legal experience and knowledge of the Commonwealth legal environment. For a Senior Lawyer (EL1), generally at least 5 years or more PAE and good knowledge of the Commonwealth legal environment. For a Senior Lawyer (EL2), generally at least 7 years or more PAE and good knowledge of the Commonwealth legal environment. Entry in the Register of Practitioners of the High Court of Australia or the roll of barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of a State or Territory. Australian Citizenship is required.
