The closing date is 14 December Job Summary University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) is recruiting for its busy elective outpatient booking service. The post holder will provide a service to all Trust-wide clinics, improve service efficiency and the patient experience. Main duties include booking appointments, handling queries and maintaining an efficient telephone service. Main duties Ensure all patient appointments are booked on receipt of referral and triage. Ensure patients are assigned to the correct clinic the first time. Maintain an efficient telephone service. Minimise short‑notice cancellations and optimise clinic capacity. Introduce a patient‑focused booking programme. Responsibilities This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules and therefore requires the applicant to already have the right to work in the UK. Work with the operational services manager to deliver a gold‑standard booking service for patients and a gold‑standard clinical administration service for clinical teams. Experience of working in a high‑volume patient / customer contact centre, ideally in an acute hospital environment, is desirable. Person Specification Customer Service Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle a high volume of telephone calls.
