About the Role We’re seeking a skilled Project Accountant – Disaster Recovery Works to provide expert financial and accounting support for our clients ongoing projects needs. This pivotal role ensures accurate financial management, compliance with Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) funding criteria, and maximised funding recovery across all eligible works. Key Responsibilities Build strong understanding of QRA grant funding, eligible expenditure, and claims processes. Monitor project progress and align financial activities with Council’s capital works and maintenance programs. Review transactions, job costings, and fleet charge allocations to ensure correct coding and reporting. Prepare and maintain monthly financial reports for disaster recovery programs. Engage effectively with internal teams, consultants, and funding agencies. Provide expert advice on budgeting, accounting processes, and funding eligibility. About You Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Strong understanding of government grant funding and project accounting. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience in financial systems, budgeting, and reporting within a local government or similar environment.
