Overview The Whittlesea Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals (WMHWL) service, delivered by Neami in partnership with Uniting , offers a “no wrong door” approach to mental health and wellbeing support. Grounded in the Collaborative Recovery Model , the service places lived and living experience at the heart of care and recovery. Closing on: Dec 6 2025 Role The Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Peer Support Worker role will draw on your personal experience of substance use and recovery to support others on their own paths. You will collaborate with clinicians, peer workers and community partners to provide hope, share insights, and offer practical and emotional support to help individuals build confidence, strengthen connections and work toward their recovery and wellbeing goals. Benefits Salary equivalent to SCHADS Level 3.4 + super . Extra 17.5 % on top of fortnightly pay when you take paid annual leave. Up to $15,900 in salary packaging benefits for living expenses (rent, groceries, bills, clothing, etc.). 10 % discount on childcare subsidy gap fee for eligible employees using a Uniting Early Learning service or centre. Great location in South Morang close to public transport. Access to training and development opportunities. Qualifications Relevant qualification in a health and/or welfare‑related discipline, or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential). Certificate IV in AOD or completion of Alcohol and Other Drug core competencies (or willingness to complete within 24 months of employment). Lived experience of substance use and accessing public AOD services. Demonstrated ability to support clients and families dealing with problematic alcohol and drug use in a respectful, compassionate and positive manner.
