As we continue to evolve our HR and payroll systems, we’re looking for an experienced Payroll Systems & Compliance Specialist to play a key role in shaping the future of our payroll function. Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager and working within a medium-sized team, you will be responsible for managing payroll systems, overseeing compliance and governance, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll operations. You’ll act as the key link between Payroll, HR, IT, and Finance as we modernise and streamline our payroll and T&A environment. You will also lead and support the implementation and enhancement of new HRIS and payroll modules, including onboarding and recruitment, ensuring that systems align with our business processes and legislative requirements. What You’ll bring to the Team: 5+ years’ payroll experience, including 3+ years in a systems or compliance-focused role. Strong technical expertise across payroll legislation, award interpretation, and taxation. Hands‑on experience with HRIS & payroll systems implementation, upgrades, and configuration. Experience with SAP, Chris21, TechnologyOne, ADP, iChris, HiBob or similar platforms. Advanced reporting and data analysis skills (Power BI, Excel, SQL). High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity. Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions. Proactive, solutions‑focused approach to continuous improvement. How You’ll Make a Difference: Maintain, configure, and optimise payroll systems across all modules. Lead and support HRIS and payroll system upgrades, testing, UAT and release cycles. Drive compliance by interpreting legislation, awards and EA updates. Prepare audit documentation, compliance reports and end‑of‑year reporting. Troubleshoot system issues, integration errors, replication issues and data variances. Collaborate with HR, IT and Finance to ensure systems meet operational needs. Lead data imports/exports and oversee data mapping and migration from legacy systems. Manage security roles, permissions, and organisational structures. Support payroll processing integrity through regular audits and reconciliations.
