Position Purpose The Marketing & Campaigns Support Volunteer provides hands‑on assistance to the Brand & Marketing and Campaigns teams within the Refugee Leadership, Advocacy and Communications department. The role supports digital content creation, social media moderation and supporter communications to help amplify advocacy efforts and promote the rights of people seeking asylum. About the Program: Refugee Leadership, Advocacy and Communications The Refugee Leadership, Advocacy and Communications department works to elevate the voices of people seeking asylum through strategic storytelling, public engagement and advocacy. The Brand & Marketing team delivers creative communications across ASRC, while the Campaigns team leads initiatives that drive systemic change and shift public narratives. Organisational Context The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest independent organisation providing aid, employment, health services and advocacy for people seeking asylum. Powered by over 500 volunteers and 200 staff, we create welcoming and inclusive environments. Our organisational values are Welcoming, Authentic, Courageous and Collaborative . Key Responsibilities Support the Brand & Marketing Manager across a range of tasks within the program. Assist with content creation and copywriting for marketing and campaign materials. Manage supporter communications by monitoring and responding to the Campaigns inbox. Coordinate video and photography requests for Brand & Marketing and Campaigns. Help moderate ASRC social media channels. Support the reorganisation and maintenance of ASRCs Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. What We’re Looking For Essential Minimum 1 year of experience in Marketing and Communications, or currently studying Marketing/Communications at a tertiary level. Strong digital literacy and understanding of digital marketing concepts and strategies. Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and digital engagement. Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confident using computer systems, especially a fan of Google Sheets. Experience managing social media platforms (personal or professional). Sharp attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑focused approach. Reliability and willingness to commit to agreed volunteer hours. Commitment to the rights of people seeking asylum and ASRC values (Collaboration, Welcome, Courage, Authenticity). Desirable Prior experience in a similar role. Lived experience of seeking asylum. Knowledge of the policy context of practice with asylum seekers visa categories/conditions, and the barriers faced by people seeking asylum in Australia. Category Community Services Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type of Work Administration & Office Management, Marketing, Media & Communications Time Required Typical commitment is 1 shift per week, for a minimum period of 12 months, with some flexibility.
