We are seeking a very experienced General Manager for our brand new 132 room Aparthotel nestled in the heart of Vienna's historic Bauernmarkt. We're looking for someone who is passionate about, and connected to, the local market, with experience working in a similar luxury or lifestyle property. You'll be helping us to introduce our exceptional Wilde experience to guests, in our first opening in Austria

Our new aparthotel is more than just a place to stay; it's a celebration of all things Vienna. From our open-air courtyard to our sleek speakeasy bar, every corner of Wilde Vienna reflects the city's unique spirit.Our modern European brasserie blends the rich traditions of Viennese and Austrian classics with bold European favourites. With our provisions deli and shop, we proudly showcase local suppliers and offer the best of Vienna's food and wine.

We respect the heritage of this great city, while adding a touch of contemporary flair. With stunning high ceilings, a welcoming atmosphere, and a commitment to authenticity, we're creating a space that's as warm and inviting as Vienna itself.

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation of the hotel and will play a pivotal role in achieving our business goals. Developing and retaining a high-performing team, building connections to the local community, and driving revenue through strategic initiatives, will be key to your success in this role.

What you can do for us: (CVs in English please)

  • offer our guests a considered, intelligent, and aesthetically pleasing experience, and we need you to work alongside your HODs and wider team, in achieving this, running all aspects of the property, including both rooms division and restaurants and bars, alongside sales and revenue
  • Ensure that all departments operate within the brand standards, taking action to any feedback within a timely manner
  • Regularly evaluate individual and team performance against their goals to drive a high performance culture. Offer constructive feedback through on-the-job training, performance appraisals, one-on-one discussions, and team meetings.
  • Produce forecasts for revenues and costs, and monitor that these are maintained within budgetary constraints. Communicate to the MD any shortcomings as soon as possible
  • Ensure the hotel complies with all legislation and Staycity Group requirements regarding H&S and any other statutory regulations
  • Enhance the team's skills and knowledge by delivering department-specific training plans that align with our strategic goals
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with other departments, fostering effective communication and teamwork across the organization.
  • Monitor and action feedback received through guest satisfaction surveys, 3rd party websites and from guests, both during and following their stay, and resolve any guest disputes and complaints in a professional manner and within guidelines issued

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven leadership experience and 3+ years in a similar general management role within a lifestyle/luxury hotel or aparthotel - this is essential for success in this role
  • Food and Beverage experience is preferred
  • Detailed knowledge and awareness of the local hotel market, ideally with working proficiency in both German and English
  • Humble and approachable, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Forward-thinking and innovative, always looking for opportunities to improve operations
  • Self-motivated and able to inspire and lead the team effectively
  • Energetic, flexible, and adaptable to changing circumstances
  • Ability to adapt effectively and make decisions under pressure
  • Proficiency in engaging in strategic business discussions at a higher level
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenues through the strategic management of commercial initiatives
  • Demonstrable ability to motivate, appraise, support and challenge the team to deliver world-class results on every aspect of the business
  • Experience in providingtraining, guidance, and support to allteams, actively participating in day-to-day department activities and driving the culture of the team
  • A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred
