Heatley Secondary College are currently seeking a Head of Department (Teaching and Learning) on a permanent full-time basis.

As the Head of Department, you will focus on implementing curriculum and pedagogy initiatives to support the educational outcomes forstudents, incorporating the vision of State Schools Division into school planning, developing the quality of teaching and learning and nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and community.

Specifically, this position will focus on leading theimplementation of Effective Teaching and Learning including the Northern Region 5Q4 Model, Australian Curriculum alignment processes, Whole School Moderation.

  • Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have the following key attributes:

  • Demonstrated teaching competence and capacity to provide leadership leading to the achievement of quality and improved learning outcomes for all students.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships within and beyond the school community, including students and families from diverse backgrounds and community agencies.
