Serves Auburn, Blacktown, The Hills Shire, Cumberland, and Parramatta LGAs.Provides tertiary care for the Greater Western Region.Committed to collaboration, openness, respect, and empowerment.Focuses on primary and secondary health care.Aims for better health services for western Sydney and beyond.What you'll be doing The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) plays a key role in managing nursing staff and overseeing patient care services within the unit.
This position ensures the delivery of high-quality care while efficiently utilising resources and leading the nursing and midwifery team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing nursing staff and patient care services.Coordinating patient care and unit operations.Leading and mentoring the nursing and midwifery team.Optimising resource utilisation within the unit.How to Apply Apply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.
Current Nursing Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Selection Criteria: Relevant tertiary qualifications in management and/or specialty, or working towards attainment in same, or extensive clinical experience in the field that demonstrates ability to perform the role.Demonstrated knowledge of the management of Day Procedure processes, Pre-Assessment of the Elective Surgical Patient, principles challenges and/or experience in Surgical Nursing and Surgical Coordination / Nurse Screening skills with regard to the surgical schedule, session development.Pre-procedure screening of the elective surgical patient skill set at the highest level will be required.Demonstrated recent experience and understanding of financial management and accountabilities in relation to stock and effective budget utilisation.Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice and critical thinking to patient care.Demonstrated ability to lead change that results in sustained improvements in patient care, throughout and resource utilisation.Requisition ID: REQ535580 Applications Close: 18th December 2024 People with disabilities who meet the selection criteria are encouraged to apply; and where required, WSLHD will implement reasonable adjustment consistent with industry standard.
