We are seeking a Communications Officer to join Communications and Government Relations, Engagement, Chancellery Division. The Communications Officer delivers strategic, timely and effective communications to QUT’s diverse internal and external audiences. As part of Communications and Government Relations, the role leads the design, development and implementation of cross-functional initiatives that strengthen QUT’s reputation, support institutional priorities, and enhance the student and staff experience. The role develops campaigns and communications that span internal communications, corporate messaging, media relations and external engagement, ensuring an integrated approach and consistent voice across all channels. The Communications Officer drives campaigns, contributes to proactive and reactive communications, and collaborates across portfolios to achieve enterprise-wide outcomes. The role may also be required to participate in an out-of-hours roster to support monitoring or crisis communications, as directed. What You Need To Succeed Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in communications, journalism or related area in conjunction relevant experience. A proven track record of designing and delivering communication strategies in a complex organisation. Demonstrated organisational skills to work within tight deadlines, balance competing priorities and work harmoniously in a small, busy office. Sophisticated written communication skills with demonstrated experience creating successful content across multiple channels and formats. Ability to liaise with a range of specialists and establish productive partnerships with stakeholder groups. Demonstrated digital literacy skills including proven understanding and experience working with web, social media, interactive design and/or other digital communication channels.
