About The Role In this role you will be a key part of Gemba’s Data & Analytics team and will collaborate closely with Gemba’s Strategy and Insights teams, to execute high quality client projects through efficient and effective practices. Data & Analytics at Gemba is more than dashboards and reports. It is about helping clients unlock the full potential of their data through cutting‑edge tools, tailored solutions, and actionable insights. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving organisational change, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders, and contributing to thought leadership in the sports and entertainment industry. This role is a great opportunity to take on responsibility for driving organisational change and developing strong relationships with senior level stakeholders. As well as contributing to thought leadership in the sports and entertainment industry through innovative approaches to customer data and 1st party analytics. You will be responsible for conducting data audits and develop data strategies for our clients to achieve their data-driven goals. Apply your technical and analytical skills to work with a variety of data sources to streamline processes, build robust data solutions, and implement best practice analytics that drive commercial outcomes for our clients. You’ll also contribute to data modelling as part of building predictive and performance analytics, alongside visualising data and uncovering insights that inspire action and impact. You will be expected to work with senior stakeholders at our clients and so strong communication both written and verbal is important in this role. About You This role requires a Data/Business Analyst with 5+ years of experience, ideally with a strong interest in sport, and a focus on best‑practice analytics and business intelligence solutions. Possessing technical skills in creating client-focused PowerBI dashboards & reports (Tableau and Looker also appropriate) is mandatory. You’ll bring technical depth in Python and SQL, with hands‑on experience across cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or AWS. Experience with cloud‑based data stores, orchestration tools, and analysis services will be highly regarded. As this is a client‑facing role, experience in consulting or a professional services environment is desirable. You’ll also have a strong grasp of business principles and hold tertiary qualifications in economics, marketing, computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related field. Experience & Background 5+ years of experience as a Data or Business Analyst, ideally within sport, entertainment, or a data‑focused consulting environment Strong technical proficiency in Python and SQL Proven experience working with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, or AWS Experience managing or mentoring team members in a data‑driven environment Background in analytics, business intelligence, or data architecture, with exposure to cloud‑based data stores, orchestration tools, and analysis services Relevant tertiary qualifications in economics, marketing, computer science, statistics, engineering, or a related field Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability Advanced data manipulation and processing skills Excellent data literacy and visualisation skills (e.g. strong experience in PowerBI development or similar) Skilled in producing clear graphical representations and insights‑driven documents for clients Strong understanding of data quality control, governance, and integrity Experience designing and implementing scalable data models (relational and dimensional) Confident communicator with experience presenting insights to C‑suite and senior stakeholders Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complexity Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance analytics and automate processes A genuine passion for sport and entertainment Success in the Role Delivery of high‑quality, insight‑led analytics solutions that drive real impact for clients Trusted relationships built with internal and external stakeholders through clear communication and delivery excellence Scalable, well‑structured data systems that enhance analytics capability and efficiency Contribution to Gemba’s thought leadership and continued reputation as a leader in data and analytics for sport and entertainment How To Apply If you’re ready, click the Apply button and submit your CV and cover letter.
