About the Position

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced University Professor in Theoretical High Energy Physics to join our faculty at Technische Universität Wien. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and conducting research in the field of theoretical high energy physics, with a focus on the gauge/gravity duality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and mentoring students in theoretical high energy physics
  • Conducting research in theoretical high energy physics, with a focus on the gauge/gravity duality
  • Developing and implementing research projects, including securing funding and managing research teams
  • Participating in academic management and governance of the institute and faculty
  • Contributing to the development of the university's research strategy and initiatives
Requirements
  • PhD in theoretical high energy physics or a related field
  • Outstanding publication record in internationally recognized academic journals
  • Teaching qualification (venia docendi) or an equivalent academic qualification
  • Pedagogic and didactic qualification for academic teaching of physics, in English and German
  • Experience in supervising research projects of students and postdocs
  • International research experience relevant to the field of specialization and international visibility
  • Ability and willingness to manage a research group
  • Competence and experience in the professional promotion of young scientists
