The roles: As a Clinical Information Clerk, your primary responsibility will be to efficiently scan and prepare medical records for integration into our state-of-the-art Digital Medical Record (DMR) system. Working alongside the team, you'll thrive in our administrative unit known for its close-knit, dynamic atmosphere. We prioritise regular check-ins and maintain an open communication style that promotes collaboration and approachability among team members. Our department operates round-the-clock, supported by dedicated shift workers for after-hours coverage, ensuring seamless continuity in our operations.
The first opportunity is a permanent part-time position, 20 hours per week, specifically for Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, offering flexibility in shifts: either from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This role will be managing Belmont Hospital's medical records, and job sharing with another part-time colleague, making it a team of 2.
The second opportunity is a permanent part-time position, 16 hours per week operating within a larger team of approximately 15 members. This role will be managing John Hunter Hospital's medical records. Shift allocations at John Hunter are managed on a rotational basis every two weeks between 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a structured yet varied work schedule. You'll experience a dynamic rotation system across different tasks throughout the week, ensuring versatility and engagement. This role also includes occasional front desk reception duties, involving patient interactions via phone and email, adding a valuable dimension to your responsibilities.

Ideal candidate: You'll demonstrate proficiency in computer literacy, a quick learning aptitude, and the ability to adapt to various systems and procedural changes. Your role will involve handling different aspects of medical record scanning, including admissions, outpatient clinics, and emergency department notes, requiring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to departmental protocols.
