Job Description

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a Senior Communication Strategist to join the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), driving our Public Information and External Relations efforts.

Salary:

We offer a competitive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at $77,326 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance) and a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to $45,158*, with additional benefits such as dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.

Job Description:

This role will focus on creating visibility for the Organization, leveraging extensive working knowledge of the news media to most effectively deliver the IAEA message. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing major media and public outreach campaigns, contributing creative input, explaining complex technical issues in a simple, concise and interesting way to non-scientific audiences, and formulating proposals for media outreach to highlight IAEA activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced university degree in journalism, international relations, non-proliferation studies or a related field.
  • First University degree in journalism, international relations, non-proliferation studies or a related field plus two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced degree.
  • At least seven years of practical work experience in a journalism or international organization web, social media and public information materials environment.
  • Ability to create KPIs and provide data analysis and evaluation dashboards using international metrics.
  • Proven skills in creating reports and presentations using a variety of software tools including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working on international issues.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English.
  • Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
